Any Road

Necklace - Similar Here
'Boho Meets Beach 'Tank Top - Sumika
Castaway Skirt - Sumika
Boots - Ariat

"But oh Lord we pay the price
With the spin of the wheel with the roll of the dice
Ah yeah you pay your fare
And if you don't know where you're going
Any road will take you there" - George Harrison

Sometimes I feel like a bit of a freak. Most people I know have a very set style and don't seem to waver from that style in how they dress and what they like. I feel like a bit of a split personality. I have days where I feel all feminine and girly but then some other days I feel a bit grunge and tomboy. Sometimes I love wearing quirky vintage, other times I just feel like blending in.  But that's what I think makes life interesting, exploring those different parts of your personality. Or maybe I am just a weirdo? ;)

Bali Cut Out Embroidery Top - Peace Angel / Tree of Life
Indigo Castaway Skirt - Sumika

Loving this rayon range from local Sunshine Coast label Sumika. If you are a local you will be familiar with Angelas crochet range often seen on women around the coast, especially out and about at the beach and outdoor festivals. Now Ang is increasingly branching out with her designs in different textiles including rayon. The castaway skirt seen above has a cheeky spilt on the side and can also be worn as a strapless top - bonus!

Desert Island

Tie Dye Swirl Kimono - Sumika
White Summer Tassel Dress - Sumika

Ever feel like running away to a deserted island? Sipping from coconuts under a tree. Swimming with the dolphins.  Of course you would need some basic supplies ... like lipbalm, music and a muscular man to help find food. Someone like Channing Tatum might do :P

Surf Show and Shine

Vintage vehicles - check. Kombis - check. Surf vehicles - check.  Um, I think I died and went to heaven. The Rotary club of Alexander Headlands put on a great day with a new event ' Surf Show and Shine'. The idea being that people put their surf vehicles and their surf boards on display for us all to have a good squiz at and either get jealous or inspired. I was a bit of both as I have owned a few kombis in my day and although I now have a new van and it's reliable, there is something to be said about Kombis that put a smile on your dial. But I should add it wasn't just Kombis, it was any classic car that fit the 'surf vehicle' criteria. There was also surfboards from the 60s and 70s and one of my favourite stalls in which they had vintage surf and souvenir memorabilia for sale. The money raised from the event went to Care Outreach to help farm families. It's hoped this will be an annual event and I can see it going from strength to strength :)
