 Cheesecloth Dress - Asos
Boots - Vintage ( Similar Here )
Photos: Troy / Editing: Moi

I had just seen the movie 'Wild' for the second time. The sun was going down. It was super windy so my hair was crazy. I had no make up on and had just been crying. But that sunset, it gave me life :)

Heart of Gold

Military Jacket - Vintage Army Shirt
Eagle Print Top - 90s Vintage
Tooled Leather Belt - Vintage
Pants - Valley Girl
Boots - Dr Martens

These were taken just before the area flooded and I've only just around to posting now. It was a scary few days for QLD and NT with cyclones and flooding. I went exploring around my town and the clean up had already begun only about an hour after the rain stopped. Got to love small country towns, they get in and just get the job done. No time for moping around! My heart goes out to anyone affected. I was lucky that my house was far enough away from water to not have any damage.

Loving this song at the moment and the humbleness that Neil Young sings it with:

Desert Roller

Adini Dress - Vintage
Leather Belt - Vintage
Cowboy Boots - Vintage ( Similar Here )

"Somewhere in the desert
Coyote makes a howl
Snake begins to slither
Along the dusty trail

Vultures start to circle
But I'm not dead yet
My mind has just retired off
Into the sunset

Please don't
Make me go back home
I'm wandering through the wasteland
I'm just fine here on my own"

This vintage dress is actually a sought after label called Adini, but they are usually known more for the indian gauze maxi dresses with gorgeous prints that are super boho.

These photos were taken at an old railway station and when I saw the tumbleweed for some reason I was reminded of this awesome song by Little Bastard.

Come Join My Cult

Indian Fabric Dress - Handmade for Me

Come, follow me up the stairs and join my cult.

The rules are simple.

Release all fears.
Leave the past in the past but remember your roots.
See the beauty in everything around you.
Embrace the suns rays.
Be kind to others but remember to be your own best friend.
Remember you are only human and embrace that without the rain you won't have the rainbow.
Laugh and dance with abandon.

Said with tongue in cheek but it is kind of true what is important for me to remember lately. This dress does make me feel a little like I just came from an Indian Ashram, makes me feel pure. At least for today ;)

Messy Hair Don't Care

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring. We're waiting for Cyclone Marcia to pass and so it is perfect weather to lay around watching movies, eating chocolate and catching up on some reading!

Brisbane: Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood

Lucille Bremer - Ziegfield Follies
Nina Foch - 10 Commandments

I was in my element on a recent trip when I entered the Museum of Brisbane to see the latest free exhibition 'Costumes from the Hollywood Age'.

Brissie resident Nicholas Inglis has been been a collector of Hollywood memorabilia and clothing for almost 20 years and the exhibition shows a sample of these iconic wears from greats such as Fred Astaire, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Judy Garland to name a few.

You may have heard the saying "I'm ready for my close up", well that was made famous by actress Gloria Swanson in the 1950 classic Sunset Boulevard. The costume worn in this famous scene is one of about 70 costumes on display as well as the dozens of accessories and props.

Swimming costumes from the famous olympic swimmer turned actress Esther Williams are also included such as the one in this short video.

Unfortunately photography is not allowed however there is lovely book with professional images you can purchase. I will be sure to be watching some of these classic movies again.

While you are there make sure you get a free ticket to go up the City Hall Clock Tower for a great view and for a little trip up the ancient and groovy lift.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

Butterfly top - Vintage
Flower Power Skirt - Vintage
Cowboy Boots - Vintage ( Similar Here )

I hope this post brings some colour and happiness to your day! This is the first time we have done a shoot in the rain but I had a handy umbrella that matched the cute bicycle perfectly so that helped :)

Cyclone Marcia is approaching our Queensland coastline here so everyone is getting prepared. I went and made sure I have my supply of chocolate to get me through ;)
