Into My Arms

Kaftan - Vintage
Photography: Cynthia Lee
It was the end of the day, I don't think I had a drop of makeup left on my face and my hair was a schamozzle ( that's a word right?) but we found Thomas the Tank engine looking neglected and a bit sad and so the adventure continued!

Steppin' Out

Blouse - Vintage
Photography: Cynthia Lee
You may have already guessed by now I love discovering old abandoned places, I am lucky that my road trip partner felt the same way. But always, always on the look out for snakes ( especially in this shed I was in the doorway of!)

Shocking Blue

Vintage 70s Dress -  Vintage
Photography: Cynthia Lee
Cynthia and I went on a road trip  and found this old school shop off the highway with rocks and minerals for sale. The elderly couple that owned it even had their own 'museum' with some crystals in it as well as some quirky collectables. It looked like it had not changed since the 70s and so was the perfect place to photograph this vintage mini dress :)

The Wanderer Returns

Vintage Bohemian Dress - Renew Vintage
Photography: Cynthia Lee

I first met Cynthia when we were both photographing for the instagram page of Caloundra Music Festival last year. With our love of music and photography we hit it off and serendipity seems to have brought us together with working together with myself styling photoshoots with her and now together for my Dark Horse Wanderer blog. From the different life changes my blog has been neglected for the last year or so, until now. I'm looking forward to pouring out my heart and soul through creativity and road trips to different places and sharing a bit more of my life with you.

This dress I was thrilled to make mine, an original vintage cotton dress from India, you can wear it on or off the shoulders and I do have a thing for off the shoulder and indian block print. Even though it is a boho dress our photo shoot had a bit of Maid Marian in Robin Hood feel to it! :)

The Travelling Kimono

Black Sleeveless Top - Thrifted

Earrings - Vintage

Drifter Shorts - The Travelling Kimono

Boots - Novo

Just realised this is my first blog post since February this year. Alot has happened with new relationship and moving house plus creating a new business with my partner. So this blog has been put on the back burner. If you follow my instagram you will know I have still be doing updates on there, but they have mainly consisted of selfies ha!

So I was a bit nervous with pulling out the tripod and camera and seeing how I go with photos in our messy lounge room. It was a bit of a spontaneous decision which I think is always best. I didn't spend any time rearranging a room I just went for it the way it was.

But I was inspired by these shorts I bought over the weekend from Sunshine Coast label The Travelling Kimono. This local business is run by two ladies who work alongside a family in Vietnam to create their designs. I love everything they have and the ethos behind their work!

Bad Reputation

Slashed Back Top - 80s Vintage
Belt - Vintage
Black Slashed Jeans - Factorie
Boots - Betts
"I don't give a damn 'bout my reputation
You're living in the past it's a new generation
A girl can do what she wants to do and that's
What I'm gonna do
An' I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation"
This top is part of a set that I found of 80s vintage goodness, the bottom is a matching ra ra skirt. I like to mix and match with the both of them obviously.
Its from a label called Wishbone that made their own fabric back in the day for their outfits so its kind of a type of batik print. The back on this is slashed and makes me think of something a girl would have worn in the 80s to see a cock rock band haha :P

Science Fiction

Glasses - Oscar Wylee
Plaid Babydoll Dress - Paper Heart ( thrifted )
Jacket - H & M
Rainboots - Merry People
I thought that love was science fiction
Until I saw you today
Now that love is my addiction
I've thrown all my books away
Spending the day getting vintage clothing listings ready for etsy but before I start I wanted to take advantage of the rainy weather. Rainy weather means rain boots and jumping in puddles. You are never too old to jump in puddles are you? :P
